Dr. Spiegl was born and raised in Kitchener, ON. She lived in Barrie briefly in the 1970's, attending Barrie Central Collegiate and played with their concert band.
Dr. Spiegl studied at the University of Waterloo's School of Optometry and graduated in 1985. Upon graduation she worked in a group optometric practice in St. Catharines for five years before moving to Barrie with her husband in 1990. Once in Barrie, Dr. Spiegl worked both in the Cedar Pointe Business Park and downtown Barrie before she started her own practice in 1995, at the Janice Drive Plaza on Anne Street North just south of Livingstone.
Dr. Spiegl has carried patient files from location to location and enjoys looking after long-time patients and their families. She has done many eye examinations in nursing homes in and around the Barrie area over the years.

Served on the board of the Barrie C.N.I.B.
Active member of the Rotary Club of Barrie-Huronia since 1996, served as club president 2009/2010.
Our family has had the opportunity to host exchange students and visiting Rotarians from many countries through Rotary.

Dr. Spiegl has a husband, two dogs, and two sons.
